Why Obsidian → Word still matters

Obsidian is excellent for networked notes. Stakeholders, professors, and clients often still need a .docx for comments, track changes, or submission portals. ChatGPT2Word is a focused bridge: take the Markdown you already wrote and produce a Word file with real styles — privately, on your machine.

What converts cleanly

• ATX headings → Word Heading 1–6 styles
• Nested lists, task lists, bold / italic / strikethrough / inline code
• GFM pipe tables → Word tables with column alignment
• Fenced code blocks with monospace + language labels
• Standard Markdown links and remote images when fetch/CORS succeeds (otherwise alt + URL)
• LaTeX math as editable Word equations when supported
• Blockquotes (handy for simplified callout text)

Obsidian-specific expectations

This converter does not open your vault, resolve [[wiki-links]], expand ![[embeds]], or sync community plugins. Treat it as Markdown-in → Word-out. For sharing:

1. Copy the note or drop the .md file from Finder / Explorer.
2. Replace critical wiki-links with [label](https://...) if readers need URLs.
3. Prefer ![alt](https://...) for images you want embedded when CORS allows.
4. Preview here, then Download .docx or Copy formatted into an open document.

Typical workflows

• Essay / report: draft in Obsidian, export once for Word track changes.
• Meeting notes: paste a daily note with tables and checkboxes for email follow-up as .docx.
