What this site does

ChatGPT2Word is a static web app that turns Markdown (including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok answers) into Microsoft Word .docx files in your browser.

What we do not do

We do not upload your pasted text or uploaded .md/.txt files to a conversion server.
We do not require an account or login.
We do not sell your content or use it to train models.
We do not offer share-link fetching that would pull private chats through our servers.

What happens on your device

Parsing and .docx generation run in JavaScript in your browser.
Optional draft text may be saved in localStorage on your device so a refresh can restore it. You can Clear to remove it.
Document setup preferences (font, size, margins) may also be stored locally.
“Copy formatted” uses the system clipboard APIs on your device.
“Export PDF” uses your browser’s print dialog (e.g. Save as PDF) — still local.

Checkout email and cookie entitlements

Free conversion does not need an email or cookies. If you buy the optional one-time Pro unlock (price on Pricing), we use a checkout email and first-party cookie entitlements so Pro can follow you on that browser and be restored later.

Checkout email — the address you enter at pricing and on Waffo checkout. We store it (normalized) so we can grant Pro after payment and look it up on /restore. It is also the receipt address.
c2w_email — HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax cookie that remembers the checkout email on this site (~13 months). Used only to resolve Pro entitlement.
c2w_vid — HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax visitor cookie that ties this browser to a Pro grant when a webhook arrives before or after the email is known.
Entitlement record — a small server-side record (email, visitor id, order id, Pro status, timestamps) in our key-value store so restore works after you clear cookies.

These cookies are functional entitlements, not advertising cookies. They do not contain your Markdown, .docx, or card number. Clearing them does not delete your purchase — Restore with the same checkout email puts Pro back. You can also ask us to delete the entitlement (see rights below).

Waffo as payment processor / merchant of record

Paid checkout is handled by Waffo Pancake (“Waffo”). Waffo is the payment processor and the merchant of record (MoR) for the one-time Pro digital good. That means Waffo — not ChatGPT2Word — is the seller on the payment, tax invoice, and card statement for eligible sales.

When you pay, Waffo collects and processes payment data (card or wallet details, billing name, checkout email, amount, tax, fraud signals, and order identifiers) under Waffo’s own privacy policy and buyer terms. We receive payment result webhooks (for example order completed) so we can turn on Pro. We do not see or store full card numbers.

Hosting & logs

The static site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (or equivalent CDN). Standard web-server / CDN request logs (IP, user-agent, URL) may exist for security and reliability. Those logs are not your document contents — your Markdown is not sent as a conversion payload. Checkout and restore API calls include the email you submit and ordinary request metadata.

Analytics & cookies

Conversion does not require cookies. The only first-party cookies we set for the product are the Pro entitlement cookies described above (c2w_email, c2w_vid), and only after checkout or restore.

If a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID is configured at build time, the site loads Google’s tag to record page views and a small set of product events (converter start, Word download success or failure, pricing, checkout start, and confirmed Pro purchase). Event parameters are coarse labels such as format or error type. We do not send your Markdown, file names, document contents, or checkout email to analytics. Query values that look like an email are stripped from the page address before the page view is sent. When that ID is unset, the Google tag is not loaded. Google Analytics may set its own cookies (such as _ga) only in that configured case.

An optional Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon may also load when its token is configured. That beacon is cookieless and is omitted when the token is empty.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site may show Google AdSense ads on public guide pages when advertising is enabled at build time. The homepage converter, pricing, checkout, and restore do not load the AdSense script. We do not place ad units inside the Markdown converter on any page. Optional Pro checkout is handled by Waffo on their domain — not on pages that load our AdSense tag.

When enabled, those pages load Google AdSense's script for ca-pub-7189405305305848 and mark ad requests as non-personalized before the script runs. We do not render our own consent banner. A Google consent message can appear only after someone publishes it for this site in AdSense Privacy & messaging. Setting PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CMP=1 at deploy time adds hooks for that message; until a published Google choice allows personalization, the non-personalized default stays in place.

Third parties, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, cap frequency, produce aggregated reports, and help prevent invalid traffic. Non-personalized ads may still use cookies for those limited purposes. You can manage Google ad personalization through Google Ad Settings or Google Ads Settings. Our ads.txt file lists pub-7189405305305848 as an authorized Google seller when ads are served on this domain.

User data rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data we hold. For ChatGPT2Word that is typically your checkout email, cookie identifiers, and the Pro entitlement record — not your converted documents (those stay on your device).

You may request to:

Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you (checkout email, entitlement status, related timestamps / order id if stored).
Correct — fix an inaccurate checkout email or entitlement mapping so Restore matches the right address.
Delete — erase your entitlement record and ask us to drop the associated cookies on the next visit we can control, subject to legal retention.
Export — receive a portable copy of that same entitlement data (typically JSON or plain text: email, Pro status, order id, updated time).

Deleting or exporting entitlement data does not upload or include Markdown you converted. Deleting Pro data may remove the ability to Restore until you buy again; it is not by itself a refund of the one-time digital good (see Terms).

How to request

Email hello@chatgpt2word.com from the checkout email used at purchase (or the address you want us to look up). Use a subject such as “Privacy request — access / correct / delete / export” and tell us which right you want to exercise.

We may ask you to confirm control of that email before we disclose or change records.
We aim to respond within 30 days (sooner when we can).
For payment-card data held only by Waffo as payment processor / MoR, we will point you to Waffo or forward the request when that is the right path.
We may keep what the law requires (for example tax, chargeback, or fraud records) and will say so if we cannot fully delete something.

You can also clear local drafts yourself with the converter’s Clear control, and clear site cookies in your browser. Cookie-only clearing does not delete the server entitlement; email us if you want that record deleted too.

Retention

Entitlement cookies last about 13 months unless you clear them. Server entitlement records are kept so Restore works for a one-time purchase, until you ask us to delete them or we no longer need them. Waffo retains payment records as merchant of record under its own schedule.

Children

The site is a general-purpose conversion tool. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Pro checkout should be completed by someone who can enter a payment method.
